Overview
Dongmangbong Peak in Sungin-dong, Jongno-gu, holds the sorrowful story of Queen Jeongsun, the wife of Danjong, the 6th King of the Joseon Dynasty. Her footsteps remain here, where she spent over 60 years gazing at the eastern sky, longing for her husband after their parting at the tender age of eighteen. In the spring of 2026, we aim to transform that deep 'purple longing' into 'hope and comfort.' The Queen Jeongsun Cultural Festival is held to reflect on the warm hearts of the common people who silently watched over the widowed Queen.
