Overview
Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon-do, boasts the largest area among all cities and counties in Korea, serving as a natural treasure trove where 85% of the land is surrounded by lush forests. In particular, its unique geographical characteristic, where the altitude increases toward the east, provides optimal conditions for pristine alpine wild vegetables to grow naturally. We have gathered the vitality created by these deep mountains in one place. This year, Hongcheon is hosting a special festival where wild vegetables, imbued with the energy of pristine forests, meet wild-simulated ginseng (Sanyangsam), a symbol of vitality. At the festival site, you can see a variety of wild vegetables grown in the high-altitude regions of Hongcheon at a glance, ranging from fragrant and fresh Allium microdictyon (Myeongi) to Aralia elata shoots (Cham-dureup) and Kalopanax shoots (Eom-namu-sun). You can also take care of your health with precious wild-simulated ginseng, which will boost your energy during the changing seasons. A special dining area will be operated where you can grill and enjoy fresh wild vegetables and wild-simulated ginseng purchased on-site along with 'Hongcheon Handon,' Hongcheon's premium pork. From May 1st to May 3rd, come and enjoy the healthiest moments that you can see with your eyes and remember with your taste at Tori Forest, Urban Forest Park.
