Overview
The 40th Icheon Ceramics Festival is a ceramic culture event held in the Icheon Ceramics Art Village and the Sagimakgol area in Icheon, Gyeonggi-do. Since ancient times, Icheon has been a region that has carried on a ceramic culture that encompasses both tradition and modernity, based on high-quality clay and excellent kiln technology. Celebrating its 40th anniversary, this festival is prepared as an opportunity to look back on the history and value of the Icheon Ceramics Festival and to envision the future direction of ceramic culture together. During the festival, ceramic artists and visitors mingle to share the artistic significance of ceramics, and visitors can experience the ceramic production process firsthand through various hands-on programs such as pottery wheel experiences and writing wishes on large ceramic pieces. In addition, a wide range of exhibitions and sales will take place, from traditional ceramics to modern design works, and the festival will expand the venue for cultural and artistic exchange through related programs such as academic seminars, ceramic competitions, and performances. With the active participation of local ceramic artists and residents, the festival aims to contribute to the revitalization of the local economy and widely promote the excellence of Icheon's ceramic culture both domestically and internationally.
