Overview
The 25th Jinju Nongae Festival is a representative local traditional cultural festival held for four days from May 2 to May 5, 2026, in the areas of Jinjuseong Fortress and the Jinju Great Victory History Park in Jinju-si, Gyeongsangnam-do. This festival is organized to commemorate and inherit the loyalty of Nongae and the historical value of the Jinju region. The theme of this year's festival is 'Gyobang, Connecting Youth,' featuring content that combines traditional Gyobang culture with a modern sensibility. Gyobang culture is a comprehensive artistic system from the Joseon Dynasty that includes music, song, dance, poetry, calligraphy, and painting, and the event features various performances and exhibition programs based on this foundation. During the festival, it serves as a comprehensive cultural tourism festival where traditional art performances, hands-on programs, and citizen-participatory events are held together. The festival aims to establish Jinju's cultural identity and contribute to the revitalization of local tourism.
