Overview
The Sacheon Waryong Cultural Festival is Sacheon's representative cultural festival that reinterprets the dragon as a core symbol based on the city's history and regional identity. Since the integration of Sacheon City in 1995, the event has been held to promote civic harmony and the advancement of traditional culture and arts. The 28th festival, themed 'Fly Waryong, Play Sacheon,' is a participatory complex festival for citizens that features a multi-dimensional program of performances, hands-on experiences, competitions, exhibitions, and food. The event venue is located around the Sacheon City Hall Plaza, and the festival consists of programs that combine regional characteristics with modern content, such as Waryong Land, Yonghadang, the Sacheon Road Parade, Waryong Stage, Waryong Concours, the National Waryong K-POP Superstar Contest, resident autonomous performances, a health festival, and a kite-flying contest.
